20130109 Just another day

I remember when i was studying in UK 7 years ago, i was writing blog every other days and that’s how my family & friends get to know what’s going on with me. I suddenly felt like doing that again although i am physically back in HK and besides my family, maybe it’s still worth sharing a bit more than a facebook update! So here we go, a blog that’s more personal but still involve design stuff, as i just cannot stop talking about it!

Today is just another ordinary working day, a day that i enjoyed. Starting with a healthy breakfast that i am eating everyday – oat meal, haha.

Work is not too busy, after some ceiling plans drawing, i set off to visit a fabric showroom near office. It’s my first time visiting although we’ve always asked the sales to bring samples to our office. I was quite amazed by their collection, simple but sophisticated brands from Europe, though their fabrics are quite costly for own use…Then i came across this interesting panel on the wall, originally i thought it’s some wavy metallic panel in rusted gold colour, after checking it out, i finally knew it’s just wallpaper, yup, 2D wall paper! But with 3D illusion!

After that, i walked back to office and on my way, rewarded myself with a glass of juice at cafe O - “6 Senses”, my favourite and thanks to Jim for the remaining dollars in the cafe O card!

Quite like the mirror stainless steel ovals on the wall of the cafe.

Hello!

After the drink, i pass by an interesting shop front, what’s that? i think it’s probably a club, written “only for private invitations” by the entrance. I’m just happy to see all these interesting space around us, especially near my office area.

Talking about my office area, how can i not mention the lovely stray cats we have outside, my 2 favourite are “Matcha” & “Gemicha”, both names given by me and used by me only..haha. Actually my colleagues always find it confusing, and ended up calling them mud-cha? (乜叉?) Hahahaha.

I will be missing them a lot if we really need to move.

…………………..

Talking about pets, i’ve always wanted dogs, the other days i went to a friend’s home for BBQ and they had this mixed dog that looks like “Schnauzer + White Terrier”, he’s a very gentle & calm dog too, i like him so much and just looked at him all the time:

And this is what i cooked @ BBQ when i was NOT looking at the dog: Quite delicious to my surprise!

Your dream measuring tape!

We’ve always been discussing how much we’re willing to pay for a good piece of measuring tape. As interior designers, it’s so true that we are still using those lousy measuring tape brought from ironmongery shops.

Here comes a nicely designed and functional one!!

One of my favourite tea house – Teakha

I’ve always love the neighbourhood of my office. It’s a very unique environment filled with small cafes, studios and home decor shops.

I’ve always wanted to find a nice cafe, or should say tea house as i am still favouring tea over coffee most of the time. And i’ve finally found one that i really like:

The tea house is half outdoor with parking space (haha, wish the cooper is mine!)

Decor is simple and crafty:

Not a lot of choice on food & drinks, as it’s managed by a pretty young lady whole loves making cakes & tea. Most of the stuff is “xxx” of the day, so just depends on what the lady purchased on that day:

Let’s have a look at the small yet chic open kitchen:

Nice copper pan for cooking herbal milk tea:

I love the traditional water bottles and tea bottles on the racks:

Ops, forgot to mentioned, i went there for lunch, so i ordered Hojicha & Sandwich of the day:

Sandwich of the day :: avocardo ham with honey mustard & walnut, surprisingly good, probably because of the thick bread from Bologne!

A walk on sunny Sunday afternoon

Free moving to Ap Lei Chau, I haven’t have the chance to visit the furniture outlet nearby, gosh it’s actually just 10 minutes walk from my home! Unbelievably close!

So I’ve just walked there for a short visit n a cup of coffee this afternoon! Only managed to stop by one shop that is the 25000 sqf showroom of TREE.

Lots of solid wood dinning tables:
